The Safe Schools and Communities Team aims to keep young people safe by educating them and working with parents, carers, teachers and other professionals to ensure we are all doing our best for them. From reception right through to 16+ we talk to them about staying safe online. We also train teachers, professionals and the voluntary sector in internet safety. But that’s not all; as they get older we cover more and more subjects from offensive weapons, alcohol education right on to diversity issues such as race hate and homophobia.
But we want you as adults to be able to access advice and support to. It isn’t always easy to keep up to date with new technology or the last issues affecting young people but by working with partner agencies we are able to keep as up to date as we can with what’s going on in the world of young people. So hopefully we can keep you informed too.
The Safe Schools and Communities Team consider themselves fortunate to work with the young people of Dorset.
